Faraday Future Takes 40th Place At 2017 Pikes Peak Hillclimb

While electric cars dominated just two years ago at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb , with more competitive entries out, this year the leading Faraday Future FF91 finished 40th. The specially prepared 1,050-horsepower car completed the course 23 seconds ahead of a Tesla run last year, but its time of 11:25.082 was actually far behind the first-place 9:05.672 set by Romain Dumas in the Norma MXX RD Limited. These times are for the famous and arduous 12.42 mile course which ascends 4,720 feet to 14,110 feet elecvation over 156 turns. Absent this year were exotic purpose-built EV racers, such as Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima used in 2015 .
