Report: First 25,000 Miles in My BMW ActiveE (Part 1)

The BMW ActiveE in my driveway. You can see my solar array in the background. I have been driving my BMW ActiveE for eight months and have a little more than 25,000 miles on the odometer. Since the 24-month lease—$2,250 down & $499/month—has unlimited mileage I want to squeeze out every mile I can and hope to return it with about 70,000 miles. So far it’s lived up to my expectations, serving me well as a daily ride. It’s a good time to examine the good, and the not-as-good, aspects of the car and the trial lease program. Today’s post will highlight the things I like about the car and on Monday, I’ll follow up with a post that details the issues and problems the other lessees and I have seen so far.
