Shell opens its third LNG station for truck fueling in Netherlands -- in Amsterdam

Capacity to Fuel Approximately 200 Trucks Per Day Shell has opened its third liquefied natural gas fueling facility for trucks in The Netherlands. The new station has a capacity of 70,000 liters of LNG, nearly 18,500 gallons, Shell says, “enough to fuel around 200 trucks per day.” Shell’s new LNG truck fueling station in Amsterdam ‘is located in the western port area, a location with significant turnover from ships to trucks that distribute goods into the city.’ Shell previously opened LNG stations in Rotterdam (F&F, March 19 ) and subsequently in Waalwijk. “We expect LNG will form a bigger part of the sustainable transport fuel mix in the future,” Shell downstream LNG GM Lauran Wetemans says in the Amsterdam station announcement.
