Biggest climate change march in NYC feels like something even bigger

Sebastian, I love your optimism. However, this march was the culmination of a huge amount of organisation by groups across the US, and overseas. 250,000 people may sound impressive, but in a city of 8.5 million, and a nation of 313 million, it's pretty small. Even then, how many of the participants are informed activists, committed to reform, and willing to invest in meaningful changes in their personal lives ? I suspect, very, very few. Most are just there for social reasons, it's a fashionable cause for students, great party etc. Oh, the politicians will turn out and say what's expected, very, very, sincerely. But, like all these talkfests, when all is said and done, there will be a lot more said, than done ! All over the world, the appeal of climate change action has lost the attention of Joe Public.
