Two Autolib electric carshare vehicles catch fire in Paris - Autoblog (blog)

While lighting cars on fire is a pretty common problem in Paris, I don't agree that it's safe to assume this was the case here. That said, the author at Plug-in Cars recently had a very weird article about Autolib, saying the serivce isn't green at all because they have to run servers and those consume energy. To be fair, most of his argument was around the vampire draw of Bollore's cars when they're on plug, but his numbers were totally wonky, and the guy just comes off as very weirdly opinionated. The more i look to some of the other green car blogs, the more I appreciate Autoblog's traditionally neutral reporting. I don't think Autoblog should have ignored this story, I'm happy they posted it. But the fact that around 1000 cars are lit on fire every new years eve in Paris was probably worth mentioning for some context.
