The end of the long government sponsored US corn-based ethanol industry is in sight ! For the US this has been like ' Prohibition', a disastrous, "Noble Experiment" ! Just like prohibition, the promise of public benefit, never materialised to a sufficient degree to outweigh the increasing harm. Just like prohibition, the US taxpayer and public had to endure the sanctimonious, sermonising of ethanol advocates, self-interest of RFA, corruption and hypocrisy of the government policies regarding ethanol production and administration. Like prohibition, the original motive were quite good.
