Social media powers student-built electric car

The 'Minddrive' project has been running for a number of years now and each year, a group of students from five school areas in Kansas take part in a programme which teaches them about electric vehicle design and development and also modern communications. Previous projects have seen the development of a ultra-efficient, lightweight and transparent electric vehicle that achieved 300 MPGe at 45 miles per hour and a 450 MPGe rating at 25 miles per hour (US electric cars are given a MPGe rating, according to EPA assessment, where the 'e' stands for equivalent to).
