Report: German chancellor stands by one-million EVs target despite slow sales

For those seeking a 'green' revolution, Germany once seemed to hold such promise. Germany has a large 'Green Political Party' with a very strong membership and even an extreme activist wing. In recent years, Germany has undertaken to decommission it's nuclear power plants and replace power generation with renewable power generation. Germany possess an extensive network of electrified public transport. With 44,000,000 cars, and three of the worlds largest, and highly profitable auto-manufacturers. Germany should be the ideal place to introduce EV's. So why don't Germans buy EV's ? Green advocates claim it's the fault of German Manufacturers for not building desirable enough EV's ! Yet, Germany has less than 7,200 EV's registered for road use, and only 10 times as many hybrids. With over 5 million 'Green' voters, this small number of EV's seems unbelievable !
