Victory! Supreme Court Rules In Favor Of Service Dogs In Classrooms

Although the initial decision banning the dog is just stupid and deprived the other little children of the opportunity of learning about service animals, the school did seem to offer an accommodation. Obviously not the one the family wanted but taxpayers are ultimately the ones who suffer cost of the ensuing litigation and any eventual damages. All the Supreme Court did was remove the requirement of hearings; they did not decide the merits. I question why they did not just request equitable relief and wonder the extent to which the school's concerns were allayed. (like the dog's needs for food, water, going out as well as whether it would be potential distraction). It seems it should have been resolved early on but instead the family opted out and "home schooled" the kid. I've trained service dogs and also adopted a retired one and a drop out.
