Green #NGOs call for post-#Brexit #EU agenda that acts for its citizens & their #environment

The ten largest environmental NGOs active at EU level, the Green 10, have sent a letter to the heads of the EU institutions and Dutch Prime Minister Rutte, to ask for a post-Brexit EU agenda that acts for its citizens and their environment. The NGOs also express their continued commitment to defend EU values such as openness, inclusiveness, tolerance, respect and commitment to sustainability and their sadness over “the fact that 52% of UK voters who turned out to vote in the recent referendum expressed the wish for their country to leave the European Union”. The Green 10 urges the EU to put “the interests of people and planet first in everything that it does, guided by the global 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris climate deal”.
