One year on - is this the "greenest government ever"? <- Please retweet the bejeesus out of this.

Exactly one year ago the prime minister made the ambitious pledge that he would lead the “greenest government ever”. But in an open letter to David Cameron today, the leaders of 15 environmental, wildlife and development charities say the government has gone off-track. Signed by chief executives from WWF, RSPB, Greenpeace, CPRE, Christian Aid, the Wildlife Trusts and others, the letter levels several criticisms at Mr Cameron’s environmental policies. The government is praised for some early steps, such as cancelling the third runway at Heathrow and deciding to set up a green investment bank. But we point out that in the past year the UK has fallen from 3rd to 13th in the global table of most attractive countries for clean energy investors, because of concerns about policy direction.
