How employers can encourage happy, healthy bike commuters

Good post, Elly. I commute to work on my bike as often as possible, and I ride the bus when the weather does not permit. I ride a Dahon Boardwalk, so it doesn't handle the snow and ice of Cleveland winters all that well. Comparing my experiences biking and taking the bus to work, I've noticed a few other benefits that biking provides. First, cycling to work is one of the most effective things I can think of to wake me up and make me alert throughout the day. I love coffee and drink it daily, but it doesn't work nearly as well as cycling. Secondly, biking allows me to get to work earlier and stay later. Although I only live about 2 miles from the office, it takes about 20-25 minutes to get from my apartment to work and vice versa. I can bike it in 10-15 minutes. This means I can get to work about 15 minutes early and don't have to worry about leaving 5 minutes early to catc...
