Greens poised to take control of first UK council with Brighton victory

Brighton and Hove looks set to further cement its position as one of the UK's leading green business hubs, after voters followed last year's election of Caroline Lucas as the UK's first Green MP by last week electing the Greens as the single largest party on the city council. Results released late last week confirmed that the Greens gained 10 councillors, taking its tally to 23 on the city council and making it the largest party for the first time.
