Will the real food movement please stand up?

I think you hit the nail on the head when pointing out that these movements are not mutually exclusive, although local food/smallism/food justice have different emphases. It makes sense that we as individuals are focusing on different problems within the food system, because different aspects are more easilly recognized as problematic to different populations of people (food access to anti-hunger advocates, farmland preservation to anti-sprawl/rural livelihood advocates, local food to local economy advocates, etc). I see some real progress being made as these different voices come together and we realize that our problems are all stemming from the same set of issues. Only through a strategic approach to making sure that all these different voices are heard, even the corporate ones (although maybe with a damper on, so we can focus more readily on the community-based issues)...
