Would You Eat Human Cheese? Artist Serving Breast Milk Cheese In East Village Gallery Stimulates Discussion and

Would you eat human cheese? This was a question I posed to my friends at brunch today. Most of the group seemed repulsed by the idea. My friend with a toddler, would only consider eating/drinking her own breast milk. It seemed strange to me considering how adventurous many of these foodies were, that this breast milk was taboo. That eating cheese of breast milk was somehow less healthy, natural or moral than eating cow or goat cheese. So presuming that the breast milk was in excess of what the baby needed and the woman was tested for diseases more thoroughly than most cows, would you eat breast milk cheese if given the opportunity? I had to answer this question for myself at Michael Mut's gallery this weekend.
