Rape Prevention Programs Need to Put Victim Blaming at the Forefront

It’s no surprise that fraternities are hot beds for sexual assault on college campuses. A recent story from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee confirms just how bad it can be after a group of female students reported a stunt frat brothers at Tau Kappa Epsilon pulled to assault party attendants. Upon entering women were marked with a red X to signify they were targets for being roofied and raped, a plan they terrifyingly carried out that evening. The fact that this plan was premeditated is perhaps the most alarming and proof of how ingrained rape culture is in Greek life. In fact, there is evidence that fraternity men are actually three times more likely to commit rape than other men on college campuses.
