Wind Energy Today: A Look at Wind Energy Projects Around The World

Over the past decade, wind power has really taken off. According to the World Wind Energy Association , at the end of 2011, there was 239 GW of installed wind power capacity worldwide, compared to just over 24 GW in 2001, with many more projects on the horizon. Thanks to growing concerns about the environmental impact of fossil fuels, governments are providing incentives to companies developing wind energy projects, which has helped to speed up wind farm installations around the world.
