Managing a Planet Under Pressure: #planet2012

I’m heading to London overnight to engage in panel discussions on the roles of communication and governance in sustaining a thriving planet in this century. (To my mind, there’s enormous potential for progress testing new ways to share and shape ideas , and far slimmer prospects for using environmental treaty-making and other tools of global governance .) The sessions are just a small part of an ambitious four-day conference called “Planet Under Pressure .” Policy papers on the core issues to be explored — from water and energy to health and wellbeing — are already posted online. There’s also a conference blog , along with the @planetconf2012 Twitter feed and #planet2012 hashtag.
