Public sector organisations have curbed their carbon emissions, saving around £15m in just under a year, by using detailed mapping to plan better routes for rubbish trucks and local transport. Ordnance Survey data was centralised when the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) was set up last year, which replaced different collective agreements the UK's national mapping agency had signed with various public bodies.
