College Student Launches iPhone Recycling Startup

Photo: Green iPhone Like many college students in these tough economic times, Brennan Zelener, a junior at Colorado State University, has to juggle his academic studies with full-time work. But Zelener’s job is unique for a student with a full course load: Last year, he launched his own business, Green iPhone, to find a new use for unwanted Apple smartphones. The startup buys working or broken iPhones from businesses and individuals, wipes their data and sells them to companies that refurbish the phones to then be sold around the world.
