Industry bags £1.4m to build Green Deal skills

A coalition of skills groups have secured £1.4m of public funding to help employers train their staff to install and repair energy efficiency measures such as loft or cavity wall insulation. The money comes from the government's £61m Employer Investment Fund, and will be used by the Green Deal Skills Alliance, a partnership of SummitSkills , Asset Skills and ConstructionSkills , to create qualifications frameworks and provide training for two years starting in 2012.
