I stand in defense of First Solar. As bad as these pictures look, they do not tell the whole story. These fences are a nuisance only in the immediate proximity. Further than 1/4 mile away they do not bother all that much. In contrast lights from Mountain High night skiing in Wrightwood 80 miles away can be seen clearly in Neenach. Compared to the strobe lights the 500 ft tall wind generators will bring these solar panel projects are a cakewalk. The razor wire is not installed on HWY 138. It can be seen only by coyotes on the sides of the projects. The security fences are necessary because theft by tweakers is rampant in the far west antelope valley. If one really cares about dust one would raise a stink about the residential lots being cleared of brush and vegetation. The fire department forces homeowners to do that.
