Don't Let Mercury Poison Us or Our Environment Any Longer!

Dear EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, I am concerned about the effect that mercury is having on our environment and public health. Exposure to mercury can not only harm our oceans fish and wildlife, but it can also cause serious health problems for humans. In fact, many cases have been documented in which mercury exposure has left a developing child with severe brain damage. In light of the recent oil spill, we simply cannot afford to allow mercury to continue harming our environment. Coal and chlorine plants should be required to switch to mercury-free technology, and should never be allowed to release the substance into the air or water. Please lend your support to legislation prohibiting the use of mercury and help us put a stop to mercury poisoning and pollution once and for all.
