Both Needed, Equitable Energy, and More on E-M Technology, correct costing, and market motivation are all needed. Technology and costing/motivation approaches play very different roles, of course. Technology makes things possible, but technologies must be researched and developed, and huge investments are needed to do the R&D and to commercialize valid technologies. Put another way, while technologies can generate or utilize energy, technologies don’t develop and invest in themselves. (They need motivated companies, governments, or other people to do so.) On the other hand, no carbon cap-and-auction system or carbon tax ever generated its own electricity.
