Dairy virus increases human risk of breast cancer by 3.1 times

After a USDA report discovered the virus (the foremost cow-killer after humans) in 100% of tested samples of 500 herds back in 2007, concern shifted from the health of cows to the affect their milk could have on people who use it. Although those consuming infected milk couldn’t contract cancer directly, a 2015 study out of UC Berkeley (published in PLOS ONE ) showed the odds of having breast cancer increased by 3.1 times if BLV was present in the subjects studied.
