Michael Vick's Former Home to be Converted to Dog Sanctuary

An animal rights group is closing a deal to purchase Michael Vick ‘s old home and convert it to a dog sanctuary. We told you about these initial plans from Dogs Deserve Better , and the controversy surrounding it; the views being that it could be cathartic to help save dogs on a spot that was formerly used for abuse, while opponents thought it in poor taste to put more dogs on an area so haunted by pain. The 4,600 square-foot home and 15-acre property formerly served as the headquarters for the dog fighting Vick ended up being convicted for, but now the group hopes to convert it into a rehab center for rescue dogs with the long term goal of finding them adoptive homes.
