Hilltop Residence is a dynamic stone and timber-clad retreat in New Zealand that integrates with the environment

The aim of the project was to create a dynamic relationship between the old structure, clad in stone and topped with a hipped corrugated iron roof, and the new addition. By contrasting the form and materials of the existing house and the new flat-roofed pavilions , the architects introduced a tension that enters into a dialogue with the natural surroundings.
