NFL Players Raise $20K For Child Whose Mother Committed Suicide

Athletes are more than just players on a field, often times they serve as role models who kids aspire to be like, which is why it’s so great to see them getting involved and giving back to their community. The story of La’Shaun Armstrong is a heartbreaking one; as he is the only surviving member of his family after his mother intentionally drove her car into the Hudson River and drowned herself and three of her children. But NFL superstars Ray Lewis (linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens) and Reggie Howard (of the Carolina Panthers) are helping to turn this nightmare into something positive. “We are human and to hear that story … as soon as I heard it, I was like, ‘I need to find him,’” Lewis told The Post . “Nobody is supposed to walk through life alone with that, especially being 10 years old.” The players invited La’Shaun to the United Athletes Foundation Charity Weekend ...
