New nanogenerator gives cars energy-harvesting tires

We’ve been hearing murmurs about energy-harvesting tires for sometime now; Goodyear is among those attempting to harness the friction of tire on tar to provide additional energy for electric cars . And now scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have developed an innovative new nanogenerator that reuses the energy generated by friction. This could not only be a boon for electric cars, but also improve the fuel efficiency of petrol-sucking vehicles.
