Middle school class builds a Frozen-themed 3D-printed prosthetic hand for a little girl
A class of Wisconsin eight-graders designed and built a 3D-printed prosthetic hand for a six-year-old named Ariah, who was born without a right hand. Built as part of a forward-thinking robotics school program called FIRST , the prosthetic piece is more than just a heart-warming gift for Ariah—the customized hand was created in the style of Ariah’s favorite movie, Frozen, and is covered in shades of blue and snowflake patterns. The Disney-inspired prosthetic hand was created using only $20 worth of materials and even includes the name “Queen Ariah” embossed on the turquoise cuff.
