Tour The White House Gardens This Weekend

In D.C. this weekend? Looking for something to do? This weekend the White House will open its 18-acres for the public to tour. This includes the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, the South Lawn, the Rose Garden, and the newly famous White House Kitchen Garden. You might even catch a glimpse of President Obama working in the Oval Office. On Saturday, April 9, the grounds will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Sunday, April 10, the hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. While the tours are free, you’ll need a ticket, so plan accordingly. According to Boston.com , The National Park Service will distribute the tickets at the Ellipse Visitor Pavilion located at 15th and E streets on each tour day beginning at 8 a.m. The White House also released a list of “banned” items that include everything from stun guns to chewing gum.
