Ronaldinho Joins The United Nations In Fight Against AIDS

Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho has teamed up with the United Nations (UNAIDS ) and Brazil’s Ministry of Health to help educate the public about HIV prevention. Even though HIV/AIDS has been around for a few decades, only 1/3 of young people have accurate knowledge on how to protect themselves. Using his star power, the attacking midfielder will seek to reach the masses with this important message through the sport and hopefully help prevent the 2,400 new cases of young people who are infected with the virus each day. Ronaldinho said about his new role, “I am honored to stand together with UNAIDS and the Ministry of Health of Brazil in the response to HIV. I am delighted to make a small contribution to this important cause by doing what I do best: playing football.” UNAIDS doesn’t get specific about how this education campaign will be incorporated into his time on the fie...
