Nudie Jeans is turning customers' worn-out jeans into Scandinavian-inspired post-consumer recycled rag rugs

isn’t about to let a good jean go to waste. The Gothenburg-based denim firm is transforming destroyed dungarees into Scandinavian-inspired rag rugs. Reclaimed from Nudie’s own customers, the jeans are cut down to serrated strips, sewn together, and rolled up on spools. Together with indigo-dyed thread for the weft, the strips are then woven by hand on a manual shuttle loom. The post-consumer recycled rugs are available at Nudie brick-and-mortar concept stores across the globe, including the Nudie Jeans House in Los Angeles.
