German and American Labs Sign Agreement to Develop Solar Technologies Sunday, 26 June 2011 EcoSeed Tweet Researchers from the German Helmholtz Association and the United States’ National Renewable Energy Laboratory have agreed to collaborate on further research and development of light-harvesting technologies for energy production, continuing an earlier commitment to spur solar energy development. “This agreement promises to advance the state of knowledge and the development of new materials and technologies that will form the basis of next-generation solar cells and solar fuels,” N.R.E.L.’s director Dan Arvizu said. The two research facilities have laid down plans on areas needed for improving the performance of the current technologies on solar cells and solar fuels .
