Businesses across the United States have realized the benefits that solar panels can provide, and that is especially true of pizza restaurants. While any company regardless of size can dramatically reduce its annual energy bills thanks to a photovoltaic array, pizzerias in particular have much to gain from solar energy. Not only do restaurants need a lot of electricity to keep facilities like refrigerators going at all times, but it takes more energy that people may realize to bake a pizza. Based on statistics compiled by Tom Murphy , an associate professor of physics at the University of California at San Diego, it takes about 1 kilowatt-hour of energy to bake a pizza in a conventional oven.
