Major Community Solar Bill Falls Short In California: What Went Wrong? via @SolarIndustry

Major Community Solar Bill Falls Short In California: What Went Wrong? The bill they were going to pass was just as useless as AB 920 (compensation for excess generation) and AB 2466 (RES-BCT tariff to allow public agencies to transfer bill credits). The issue with all three pieces of legislation is that they only give participants credit for the generation component of their bill ($0.04 - $0.05/kWh). The newest amendments to SB 843 strike out "generation component" and replace it with "energy component" which comes closer to full retail value. This makes it viable and a potential game-changer. It's a significant change though so I’m not surprised that it's been pushed back to committee. I'd rather see Sacramento take its time and pass a bill that achieves its intended effect than have them rush though another neutered bill just so our elected representatives can pretend t...
