Japan’s largest oil refiner JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (JX Energy) has released plans to develop four more PV power plants with a total installed capacity of 6.9MW. The largest plant, 2.5MW in size, will be built in Akita Prefecture and the second largest, weighing in at 2MW, is sited in Ibaraki Prefecture. A 1.3 MW plant is planned for Hiroshima Prefecture and a 1.1MW system in Saitama Prefecture. The Ibaraki plant is scheduled to come online in October 2015, the Akita plant in November 2015 and the two smaller plants in March 2016. JX Energy did not disclose any information about the project costs, investors, or suppliers.
