Solar Hot Water: Which Is Better PV or Thermal?

Solar Hot Water: Which Is Better PV or Thermal?

Wow. We have been installing solar water heating for over 30 years and none of our systems are as described above. Who would want one of those? Our systems are glycol exchange so there is no freezing or boiling. The panels self-vent to prevent over heating and the only maintenance you need to do is to flush and replace the glycol once every three to five years depending on how often the system is used. The more it's used the less maintenance involved. The heat exchange takes place in a control panel attached to the water heater/tank and can be paired with on-demand, geothermal or another standard water heater. The control box also self flushes so there is no build up of minerals or clogging of the system. There is also a temperature control to make sure the water does not reach scalding, if desired. All our systems have digital monitoring for real-time and historic data of...
