Arguably, the bigger threat, as posed above, is the depletion of the Ogallala reservoir from growing corn and soybeans, especially to produce Ethanol. The real "spills" that are threatening are all the spills that occur everyday from all of us. It is really burning carbon based sources, but you get the idea.
