NOJA Power feeds energy to Scotland’s £12.5m electricity grid research centre 24 Jun 2013 Scottish Power supplier NOJA Power has supplied 11kV pole mounted reclosers to the £12.5m Power Networks Demonstration Centre opened in May. Located in Cumberland, the electricity grid R&D hub was established in response to a growing demand for reliable and environmentally-friendly power, and uses a mini electricity grid system, which can be isolated from the national network to test new technology. The purpose-built centre, will be home to researchers, engineers and industry specialists who will conduct new research and develop new technologies in this sector, from advanced grid control schemes to intelligent sensor systems.
