London Firm Puts Hybrid Energy Park to Work for Waste Management

U.K. resource management firm Cory Riverside Energy today said that it will build a hybrid energy park in London to support waste management for the city. The energy park will include waste energy recovery, anaerobic digestion, solar panels, and battery storage. According to the company, the park will enable the company to convert “black bin” waste into electricity, particularly during times of peak usage, and produce cheap heat for export to nearby homes and businesses. “London is facing a significant capacity gap in its ability to appropriately dispose of and treat all its waste,” Nicholas Pollard, chief executive of Cory Riverside, said in a statement. “This new park is an important part of the solution.” Pollard added that, employing a range of technologies which are proven at scale will allow the company to treat more of London’s waste within the city’s boundaries.
