Is This Funding the Boost Solar Needs in Afghanistan?

The Asian Development Bank’s support of a new 20-MW solar plant in Afghanistan is a significant win for utility-scale solar PV in the country, where little investment in the technology has been made to date. According to Jorg Mayer, managing director of the German Solar Association, investors have not been “lining up” to get into the Afghani market. Mayer told Solar Promotion International (see interview here ) that the Afghani government wants to create a favorable environment for investors.
