56.2 mpg by 2025 and $4.00 gasoline - Hybrid Cars and Plug-in ...: Then again, such fuel economy numbers require...

56.2 mpg by 2025 and $4.00 gasoline The dangers of foreign oil dependence are written on the walls. The worst of energy prices is behind us, LOL I watch and read a lot of news, and today all I can do is laugh, and cry. Now that gasoline prices are declining a bit, there is renewed optimism for the economy. Ultimately, America just can’t handle $4.00 gas, and now that prices are falling, there’s hope – at least a little hope. Yet, if we can’t handle $4.00 gas, isn’t the joke still on us? Or, will a new CAFE requirement for 56.2 mpg by 2025 save us? On the optimistic side, better fuel economy will help consumers deal with higher gasoline prices. Of course, since a premium is paid up front for such fuel economy, is the whole fuel savings squashed anyway, especially since these higher premiums will be financed? Then again, such fuel economy numbers require a significant percen...
