Uber Protest Movement Gains Strength Nationwide

Yesterday, cab drivers in New York City announced they would refuse to pick up fares at JFK airport in a move to show solidarity with the hundreds of people caught in Trump’s squeeze play on immigrants. Uber rose to the occasion by sending fleets of its drivers to the airport to ferry people into the city, in effect acting as strike breakers opposing the cabbies’ protest. Uber said it was just trying to protect the protesters by giving people rides during the one hour “no drive” window announced by the cab drivers but many people saw it quite differently and started an Uber protest movement on
