If the government plug-in vehicle incentives end it will have a big impact on some cars. The federal tax break is approaching 20% of the base price of the Volt, much less for the C-Max and even less for the PiP. For plug-in hybrids the Volt will likely see the biggest impact on sales since tax incentives offset a huge percentage of the price, the PiP very little impact. True EVs will see less impact the higher the price, only because the $7,500 does not have near as much impact on a $100,000 purchase vs. a $40,000 purchase, plus high end buyers are less worried about the price when it comes to something they want. The Leaf and other lower price EVs will see a big impact on sales.
