NIssan ProPilot Coming To America (w/Video)

Part of the allure of the Tesla Autopilot system is that it allows drivers to remove their hands from the steering wheel for extended periods of time. That may be a flaw in Tesla’s approach, as it gives drivers the impression the car will drive itself. That permits them to divert their focus from operating the automobile to other things. Tesla insists it is very clear with customers that they must remain alert and fully engaged in the driving process at all times. But there seem to be some issues surrounding the “hand off” process when the computer decides it needs a human driver to resume control. People being people, they often require more time to stop being distracted and to start paying attention again.
