More motorists sharing as Liftshare Week returns

The number of motorists sharing their ride is on the increase, as commuters face ever rising costs. Next week is Liftshare Week-an annual event designed to highlight the growing popularity of car sharing and draw attention to its many benefits, running from 1-5th October. According to liftshare.com, 2012 has already seen an impressive 15 per cent increase in lift share opportunities registered through its website, reflecting rising interest in this form of affordable travel. In the first eight months of this year, 30,839 people got in touch with others driving their way through this online lift sharing network. This compared to 26,741 during the same period in 2011.
