15 Ryder LNG Trucks for Shell Logistics | Fleets and

Freightliners to Support Oil and Gas Operations on Gulf Coast Ryder System said at Fleets & Fuels presstime today that it will supply 15 liquefied natural gas-fueled Freightliner Cascadia trucks to Shell to support oil and gas logistics operations in Lafayette, La. and Houston. The LNG-fueled Freightliner tractors for Shell were built according to a custom truck spec ‘that was weight-sensitive to maximize freight revenue, while assuring durability and operability in the field.’ The LNG tractors are to replace existing diesel vehicles, also supplied by Ryder. The LNG trucks will be serviced at Ryder’s Lafayette facility, “which is being engineered to meet the unique compliance requirements for natural gas,” Ryder said.
