Lexus reveals fuel economy ratings of new hybrid car

It has been eagerly anticipated ever since it was unveiled back at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show – and now the new Lexus GS450h (pictured) is ready to hit the road after its official fuel economy ratings were revealed. The new generation hybrid version of the GS350 offers an official combined fuel economy rating of 31mpg – a 35 per cent improvement compared to the previous generation and compared to the conventional 2013 GS350. These striking fuel economy figures have been achieved thanks to the implementation of the second generation of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system. This includes a D-4S direct and port fuel injection system, as well as an Atkinson 3.5litre V6 engine: total system output is 338hp.
