I hope you are right about the range loss issue being overstated because it will taint all BEV’s by association if it is true, and some of the negative spin will even affect EREV’s like the Volt. I have never thought that battery swapping would take off, I always figured that the 8% improvements we are seeing yearly would make them superfluous sooner rather than later, but I definitely think that there will be surprises in the development of alternatives to the traditional ICE vehicles over the next 10 years and that could very well be on of the developments that surprises me. The one thing that has already started to jolt me is just how fast carmakers have come up with high mpg ICE based vehicles. I am looking at Ford and the Fusion and C-Max Hybrids and Energis.
